Possible Causes
Blocked cooling air intake, Dirty radiator or oil cooler, Failed cooling fan, Low coolant level (liquid-cooled), High ambient temperature with inadequate ventilation
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Allow the generator to cool before inspection. Disconnect battery negative.
- Clear airflow: Remove debris from intake and exhaust louvers. Ensure required clearances around the enclosure.
- Clean heat exchangers: Blow out radiator and oil cooler fins with compressed air from inside out.
- Check fan operation: Inspect the cooling fan and belt (if belt-driven). Replace a failed fan motor or belt.
- Verify coolant level: Top up coolant to the specified level and check for leaks.
- Load and environment: Avoid operating at full load in extreme heat without adequate ventilation. Consider shading or improved airflow.
