How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn OFF the generator and allow it to stop completely before opening the enclosure.

Steps:

  • Inspect intake: Check the Honeywell enclosure intake louvers for leaves, dust, or nests. Clean thoroughly.
  • Replace air filter: Open the airbox, remove the old filter, and install a new OEM Honeywell/Generac-compatible air filter. Ensure it seats properly.
  • Clean airbox: Vacuum or wipe out any debris inside the airbox.
  • Reset reminder: Use the controller menu to reset the air filter or maintenance reminder per the manual.
