Possible Causes
Incorrect mains sensing wiring to controller, Out-of-range utility voltage or frequency, Faulty mains voltage sensing circuit, Loose neutral on mains sensing
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Isolate the ATS and follow lockout/tagout procedures. Work on mains circuits only if you are qualified.
- Check mains sensing terminals: On the Hyundai controller, verify that the mains sensing inputs (often labeled U, V, W, N or similar) are wired correctly from the ATS or mains supply.
- Measure mains parameters: With a multimeter, confirm that mains voltage and frequency are within the acceptable range specified in the Hyundai manual. If the grid is unstable, the generator may refuse to transfer.
- Inspect neutral: Ensure the mains neutral conductor is solidly connected to the controller sensing circuit. A floating neutral can cause false E15 alarms.
- Controller test: If wiring and mains values are correct, the controller's mains sensing circuit may be faulty. Replacement of the controller module may be required.
