Possible Causes
Emergency stop button engaged, Open safety loop wiring, Faulty emergency stop switch, Loose terminal on safety chain
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Confirm there is no actual emergency before resetting any safety devices.
- Check emergency stop button: Locate the red E-STOP on the Hyundai generator enclosure. If it is pressed in, twist or pull to reset according to the label.
- Inspect safety loop: Many Hyundai controllers use a series safety loop including E-STOP, low oil, high temp, and door switches. Inspect wiring for breaks or loose connectors, especially at door interlock switches.
- Test E-STOP switch: With power isolated, use a multimeter to verify continuity through the emergency stop switch when reset. Replace if intermittent or open.
- Clear code and test: After confirming all safety devices are normal, clear E17 on the controller and attempt a manual start.
