Generator starts then surges or hunts in RPM without any error code

Safety first: Turn OFF the generator and disconnect battery negative before working near moving linkages or fuel lines.

• Replace fuel filter: Install a new Hyundai fuel filter to eliminate restriction.
• Bleed fuel system: On diesel models, use the manual priming pump or bleed screws to remove air until fuel flows steadily.
• Clean linkage: Lubricate and free up the governor/throttle linkage at the injection pump or carburetor. Ensure no cables or debris are interfering.
• Professional adjustment: If surging persists, have a technician adjust the governor gain and droop parameters in the Hyundai controller or mechanical governor as per the service manual.
