Possible Causes

Cracked fuel hose, Loose hose clamp, Leaking fuel filter seal, Corroded fuel tank or fittings

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Immediately shut down the generator, disconnect battery negative, and eliminate all ignition sources. Ventilate the area.

  • Identify leak source: Wipe up spilled fuel and observe hoses, filter, and tank while briefly pressurizing the system (e.g., with priming pump) to locate the leak.
  • Tighten fittings: Gently tighten hose clamps and threaded fittings at the Hyundai fuel filter and pump connections.
  • Replace damaged hoses: Cut out and replace any cracked or swollen fuel hoses with fuel-rated hose of the same size.
  • Filter seal: If leak is at the filter, remove and reinstall a new filter with a lightly oiled gasket, tightening to the specified torque.
  • Tank inspection: If the tank itself is leaking, do not attempt makeshift repairs. Replace the tank or have it professionally repaired.
