Possible Causes
Faulty Hyundai Power ATS control board, Mechanical interlock jammed, Incorrect sensing of utility voltage, Loose control wiring between generator and ATS
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Only qualified electricians should work inside the ATS. Isolate both utility and generator sources before opening the ATS.
- Verify generator output: Confirm that the generator is producing correct voltage and frequency at the ATS terminals.
- Check control wiring: Inspect the low-voltage control cable between the Hyundai Power generator controller and the ATS. Tighten loose terminals and repair damaged cables.
- Utility sensing: Ensure the ATS correctly senses loss of utility. Measure utility voltage at the sensing terminals; if present when it should not be, wiring may be incorrect.
- Mechanical inspection: With power isolated, manually operate the transfer mechanism (if allowed by the design) to ensure it moves freely. Lubricate pivot points if recommended.
- Replace ATS board: If control signals are correct but the ATS does not operate, the ATS control board may need replacement with a Hyundai Power OEM part.
