Possible Causes

Low or no battery charge, Battery cables loose or corroded, Faulty starter motor, Faulty Hyundai Power control module

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Put the generator in OFF. Isolate utility power at the transfer switch if you will be working near mains wiring. Disconnect the negative battery cable before touching starter or control wiring.

  • Check battery voltage: Using a multimeter, measure across the Hyundai Power OEM battery terminals. You should see around 12.4–12.8 VDC. If below 12 V, charge or replace the battery with the specified Hyundai Power battery type.
  • Inspect battery connections: Clean any corrosion from the battery posts and cable lugs with a wire brush. Tighten the battery terminals firmly. Ensure the chassis ground strap from battery negative to frame is secure.
  • Test manual start: Set the controller to MANUAL and attempt to start. If the starter does not crank, listen for a click from the starter solenoid. No click suggests a control or solenoid issue; a click but no crank suggests a starter motor or battery issue.
  • Check starter wiring: Inspect the Hyundai Power starter relay and wiring harness from the control module to the starter solenoid for loose plugs, damaged insulation, or burnt connectors. Reseat all multi-pin connectors.
  • Controller reset: Turn the controller OFF, wait 30 seconds, then back to AUTO. Clear the E01 code if the controller allows. If the fault persists after verifying battery and starter, the Hyundai Power control module may require professional testing or replacement.

Do not repeatedly crank the engine for more than 10–15 seconds at a time; allow a cool-down period to avoid overheating the starter.
