Generator shuts down shortly after starting and displays E03 on the controller.

Safety first: Turn the generator OFF and allow the engine to cool completely. Do not attempt to restart until oil level and condition are checked.

• Check oil level: Remove the dipstick and verify that the oil level is between the MIN and MAX marks. Top up with the Hyundai Power-recommended engine oil grade if low. Do not overfill.
• Inspect for leaks: Look around the oil filter, drain plug, crankcase gasket, and oil cooler lines for signs of fresh oil leakage. Tighten loose fittings and replace damaged seals.
• Test the oil pressure switch: Locate the Hyundai Power oil pressure switch on the engine block. Inspect the connector for corrosion or loose fit. With the engine off, the switch should show continuity to ground (on most models). Replace the switch if it is open when it should be closed, or if it leaks oil.
• Change oil and filter: If the oil is very dirty or thin, drain and refill with the correct viscosity oil and a genuine Hyundai Power oil filter. A clogged filter can cause low pressure.
• Reset and test: Clear the E03 code if possible, then start the generator and monitor for leaks and abnormal noises. If the code reappears immediately with correct oil level, internal engine wear or oil pump failure may be present and requires professional service.
