Possible Causes
Discharged starting battery, Failed Hyundai Power battery charger, Loose battery terminals, Parasitic drain from accessories
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn the generator OFF. Wear eye protection when working around batteries.
- Measure battery voltage: Use a multimeter to check the battery. Below 12.0 V indicates a low or discharged battery. Charge the battery with an appropriate charger or replace it if it fails to hold charge.
- Inspect charger: Locate the built-in Hyundai Power battery charger module. Verify that it has AC input power and that its output to the battery is around 13.2–13.8 VDC when active. Replace the charger if there is no output.
- Clean and tighten terminals: Remove corrosion from battery posts and cable ends. Tighten all connections, including the ground strap to the generator frame.
- Check for drains: With the generator off, use an ammeter in series with the battery to check for abnormal current draw. Disconnect optional accessories (heaters, aftermarket monitors) one by one to identify the source.
- Clear alarm: After restoring proper voltage, clear E08 on the controller and test automatic start.
