How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect non-essential loads and place the generator in MANUAL for testing.
- Measure frequency: Use a frequency meter or multimeter with Hz function to measure output frequency. Compare to the rated 50/60 Hz.
- Adjust governor: For mechanical governors, adjust the governor screw slightly to bring frequency into range. For electronic governors, follow Hyundai Power calibration procedures.
- Inspect speed sensor: Check the engine speed sensor and wiring for damage or loose mounting. Replace if readings are erratic.
- Controller configuration: Ensure the controller is set to the correct nominal frequency for your region. Incorrect settings can cause nuisance E15 alarms.
- Load evaluation: Remove large intermittent loads (elevators, large compressors) and see if frequency stabilizes. If so, consider load management or a larger generator.
