Possible Causes
Clogged Hyundai Power fuel filter, Weak fuel pump, Air leaks in suction line, Blocked tank vent
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn OFF the generator and allow it to cool. Work in a well-ventilated area away from ignition sources.
- Inspect fuel filter: Locate the primary and secondary fuel filters. If they are dirty or past service interval, replace them with genuine Hyundai Power filters.
- Check fuel pump operation: With the key ON, listen for the electric fuel pump (if equipped). Measure fuel pressure at the test port and compare to specifications. Replace a weak pump.
- Look for air leaks: Examine the suction side fuel lines and fittings for wet spots or cracks. Tighten clamps and replace brittle hoses.
- Verify tank venting: Ensure the fuel tank cap vent is not blocked. A vacuum in the tank can starve the pump. Loosen the cap slightly and test run; if the problem disappears, clean or replace the cap.
