Possible Causes
Repeated failed start attempts, Controller crank lockout timer active, Faulty Hyundai Power starter relay, Shorted starter solenoid
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn the controller to OFF and wait for all moving parts to stop.
- Allow lockout to clear: Many Hyundai Power controllers impose a cool-down period after multiple failed starts. Wait 5–10 minutes, then attempt a start after addressing underlying issues (fuel, spark, etc.).
- Inspect starter relay: Locate the starter relay in the control box. Check for signs of overheating or burning. Test coil voltage during crank command and replace if the relay does not close.
- Check starter solenoid: Inspect the solenoid on the starter motor for loose cables or burnt contacts. Ensure the heavy battery cable and motor cable are tight.
- Correct root cause: Investigate why the engine failed to start (fuel, ignition, compression) before attempting further cranking to avoid damage.
