Possible Causes
Weak battery but above alarm threshold, Partially clogged fuel filter, Fouled spark plug, Stuck Hyundai Power fuel shutoff solenoid
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn the controller to OFF and disconnect the negative battery cable before servicing ignition or fuel components.
- Verify battery under load: Even if voltage looks normal, perform a load test or observe voltage while cranking. If it drops below ~9.6 V, replace the battery.
- Check fuel delivery: Loosen the fuel line at the carburetor or injection pump inlet and briefly crank the engine. Fuel should flow steadily. If not, inspect the Hyundai Power fuel filter and pump.
- Inspect spark plug: Remove the plug(s), clean or replace with the specified type and gap. Ensure the ignition coil lead is firmly attached.
- Test fuel solenoid: With key ON, confirm 12 V at the fuel solenoid and listen for a click. Replace the solenoid if it does not actuate.
