Possible Causes
Emergency stop button engaged, Remote stop circuit open, Faulty emergency stop switch, Wiring fault in E‑stop loop
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Ensure the generator is on manual/off, isolate battery negative, and confirm the set is not required for backup power before working on it.
- Check emergency stop button: Locate the red E‑STOP on the JCB generator control panel or enclosure. Turn or pull to reset. Inspect for mechanical damage.
- Inspect remote stop circuit: If the set has a remote stop or fire panel interface, verify the circuit is closed. Check terminals on the JCB controller (e.g., E‑stop input terminals) for loose or broken wires.
- Test continuity: With power isolated, use a multimeter to check continuity across the E‑stop switch and remote stop loop. Replace any switch that does not close properly.
- Clear code and test: Restore battery, reset the controller, clear alarms, and attempt a manual start. If E01 persists, inspect harness from E‑stop to controller for damage or corrosion at plugs.
