Possible Causes

Weak or discharged starter battery, Faulty starter motor, Fuel delivery problem, Faulty start relay or wiring

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Disable automatic start (set to OFF/MANUAL) before working on the starting system.

  • Check battery voltage: Measure across the JCB starter battery terminals. If below ~12.4 V (for 12 V systems) at rest, charge or replace the battery.
  • Inspect battery connections: Clean and tighten battery terminals and ground straps. Look for corrosion at the chassis earth point.
  • Listen during crank: If there is a click but no crank, suspect starter solenoid or motor. If there is no sound, check the start relay and fuses in the control panel.
  • Fuel checks: Confirm fuel level, open valves, and that the fuel solenoid energizes during crank. Bleed air if filters were recently changed.
  • Clear code and retest: After correcting issues, clear E09 and attempt a manual start. If repeated failures occur, log conditions (temperature, fuel level) and consult a technician.
