Possible Causes
Incorrect mains voltage sensing wiring, Blown fuses in sensing circuit, Faulty ATS auxiliary contacts, Controller configuration error
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Mains voltage is lethal. Only qualified personnel should work on mains sensing circuits.
- Check controller readings: View mains voltage and frequency on the JCB controller. If zero or incorrect, suspect sensing wiring or fuses.
- Inspect sensing fuses: In the control panel, locate and test fuses protecting the mains sensing lines.
- Verify wiring: Compare the mains sensing connections to the JCB wiring diagram. Ensure each phase and neutral (if used) is correctly landed.
- ATS feedback: Check auxiliary contacts on the ATS that signal position (mains/generator) back to the controller. Replace faulty aux contacts.
- Configuration: Confirm controller parameters for mains voltage and frequency thresholds are set correctly for the site supply.
