Possible Causes

Aged or sulfated battery, Faulty battery charger module, Loose battery cables, Parasitic drain from accessories

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn OFF the generator and isolate the battery before servicing electrical components.

  • Step 1 – Measure battery voltage: With the generator off, check voltage at the battery terminals. Below ~12.0 V indicates a discharged or failing battery. Charge fully and retest; replace if it will not hold charge.
  • Step 2 – Inspect battery charger: Locate the Kipor battery charger module inside the control panel. With AC supply present, measure its DC output. If no output or low voltage is present, replace the charger.
  • Step 3 – Tighten connections: Clean and tighten all battery terminals, ground straps, and DC harness connectors to the controller. Look for heat discoloration indicating poor contact.
  • Step 4 – Check for drains: With the generator off, use an ammeter in series with the battery to check for excessive standby current draw. Disconnect accessories one by one to identify the source of any abnormal drain.
