Possible Causes
Connected load exceeds generator rated kW, Short circuit or ground fault in load wiring, Faulty automatic transfer switch (ATS) contacts, Defective output breaker
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Open the main output breaker on the generator and isolate the ATS before inspecting load circuits. Only qualified persons should work on building wiring.
- Step 1 – Remove all loads: Turn OFF or disconnect all downstream loads and open branch breakers in the building panel.
- Step 2 – Reset generator breaker: With loads removed, reset the generator output breaker and clear the E07 fault on the Kipor controller.
- Step 3 – Test no‑load operation: Start the generator with no load. If it runs normally, gradually reintroduce loads while monitoring current draw and frequency. Do not exceed the nameplate rating.
- Step 4 – Inspect ATS: If E07 occurs only when the ATS transfers, inspect ATS contacts and wiring for signs of arcing or shorting. Replace damaged contactors or wiring.
- Step 5 – Check for short circuits: If the generator trips immediately when a particular circuit is energized, have a licensed electrician test that circuit for shorts or ground faults.
