Possible Causes
Low fuel in main or day tank, Faulty fuel level sender, Blocked fuel transfer line, Failed fuel transfer pump (if equipped)
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn OFF generator and any fuel transfer pumps before opening fuel lines. No smoking or open flames.
- Step 1 – Check actual fuel level: Visually inspect the main storage tank and the generator day tank (if present). Refill with clean fuel to above the low‑level mark.
- Step 2 – Inspect fuel level sender: Remove the sender from the day tank and check the float for sticking or damage. Test resistance while moving the float; replace if readings are erratic.
- Step 3 – Verify transfer pump operation: If the system uses an automatic transfer pump, listen for pump operation when the day tank calls for fuel. Check fuses and relays. Replace the pump if it does not run with power applied.
- Step 4 – Clear fault: After restoring fuel level and correcting any sensor issues, reset the Kipor controller and test run.
