Possible Causes
Empty fuel tank, Fuel shutoff valve closed, Faulty fuel solenoid, No spark (gasoline) or no injection (diesel)
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disable automatic start and disconnect battery negative before working on fuel or ignition systems.
- Step 1 – Confirm basics: Verify fuel level, check that the fuel shutoff valve is open, and ensure the battery is fully charged.
- Step 2 – Check fuel solenoid: Turn key to ON and listen/feel for the fuel shutoff solenoid click on the injection pump or carburetor. If silent, test for voltage at the solenoid and replace if defective.
- Step 3 – Verify spark or injection: On gasoline Kipor units, remove a spark plug, ground it, and check for spark while cranking. On diesel units, loosen an injector line and confirm fuel spurts during crank. Address ignition or injection issues as indicated.
- Step 4 – Air intake: Inspect the air filter element and intake duct for blockage. Replace a clogged air filter.
