How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Keep clear of moving parts. Shut down and cool the unit before tightening hardware.
- Step 1 – Inspect mounts: Check all engine and alternator mounting bolts on the Kipor base frame. Tighten to specified torque.
- Step 2 – Examine rubber isolators: Look for cracked or collapsed vibration isolators between the generator set and base. Replace worn mounts.
- Step 3 – Check exhaust system: Inspect the muffler, flex pipe, and hangers for cracks or broken supports. Replace damaged exhaust components.
- Step 4 – Listen for internal knocks: If knocking or metallic sounds persist, internal engine or alternator damage may exist. Stop using the generator and contact a technician.
