Kipor
Chronic Battery Discharge
Kipor generator battery repeatedly goes flat between test runs

Possible Causes
Faulty battery charger, Parasitic draw from accessories, Old battery with high self‑discharge, Loose or corroded terminals
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect battery negative before inserting an ammeter in series.
- Step 1 – Test charger output: With AC supply present, measure DC voltage at the battery. It should be around 13.5–13.8 V. Replace charger if output is low or absent.
- Step 2 – Check for parasitic draw: With generator off, measure current draw from the battery. Identify and disconnect accessories causing excessive draw.
- Step 3 – Evaluate battery health: Load‑test the battery. Replace if it fails to maintain voltage under load.
- Step 4 – Clean terminals: Remove corrosion and apply dielectric grease to battery posts.
