Possible Causes
Cracked radiator or hose, Loose hose clamp, Failed water pump seal, Leaking coolant level sensor or expansion tank
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn generator OFF, open main breaker, and allow engine to cool completely before opening the cooling system.
- Identify leak: Inspect radiator, hoses, clamps, water pump, and expansion tank for wet areas or dried coolant residue.
- Tighten clamps: Snug hose clamps and recheck for leaks.
- Replace hoses: Replace any cracked or swollen hoses with coolant-rated hose of the correct size.
Significant leaks or radiator/water pump failures should be repaired by a technician. Refill and bleed the system per Kohler procedures after repairs.
