Possible Causes

Emergency stop pushbutton engaged, Open E-stop circuit wiring, Faulty E-stop switch, Controller input failure

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Ensure it is safe to restart the generator and that no maintenance is being performed before resetting any emergency stop.

  • Check E-stop button: Locate the red emergency stop button on the generator enclosure or nearby wall. If it is pressed in, twist or pull to reset (per labeling).
  • Inspect wiring: Check the wiring from the E-stop switch to the controller for loose connections or damage.
  • Continuity test: With power off, test the E-stop switch with a multimeter to ensure it opens and closes correctly. Replace if faulty.
  • Clear fault: After correcting the issue, clear the E-stop fault on the controller and attempt a manual start.

If the controller still reports Emergency Stop with the circuit closed, the controller input may be defective and require replacement.
