How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn generator OFF, open main breaker, and allow engine to cool before touching oil components.
- Locate leak source: Wipe down oily areas and run briefly to see where fresh oil appears.
- Filter and plug: Tighten the oil filter by hand (do not overtighten) and snug the drain plug. Replace the filter gasket or plug washer if leaking.
- Gaskets: If oil seeps from crankcase or valve cover gaskets, gasket replacement may be required.
Always refill oil to the correct level after leak repairs and monitor closely on the next few runs.
