Possible Causes
Blocked ventilation louvers, Failed cooling fan (on enclosed sets), Excessive ambient temperature, Insulation or debris blocking airflow around engine
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn OFF the generator and allow it to cool. Do not work inside the enclosure with the engine running.
- Inspect ventilation: Check all intake and exhaust louvers on the Kubota enclosure for dust, leaves, or snow buildup. Clean thoroughly to restore airflow.
- Check enclosure fan: If your model uses an electric enclosure fan, verify it runs when the generator is operating. If not, check the fan fuse, wiring, and replace the fan motor if failed.
- Remove obstructions: Ensure no storage items, rags, or insulation have been placed inside the generator housing that could block airflow around the radiator and engine.
- Sensor check: Locate the compartment temperature sensor and inspect its wiring. If the sensor is loose or touching a hot surface, remount it correctly. Replace if readings are clearly inaccurate compared to actual temperature.
- Ambient conditions: In very hot climates, consider adding shading or improving ventilation around the generator location, following Kubota installation guidelines.
