Possible Causes
Low diesel fuel in tank, Faulty fuel level sender, Open circuit in fuel level wiring, Incorrect fuel level calibration in controller
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn OFF the generator and keep ignition sources away from the fuel tank area.
- Verify fuel level: Physically check the diesel level in the tank using the sight gauge or dipstick if equipped. Do not rely solely on the electronic gauge.
- Refuel: Add clean, on-spec diesel fuel to at least half tank. Avoid overfilling and wipe up any spills immediately.
- Check fuel level sender: Locate the sender unit on the tank. Inspect wiring and connector for corrosion or damage. Gently move the float arm (if accessible) and watch the controller reading for change.
- Test sender resistance: Disconnect the sender and measure resistance across its terminals while moving the float. Compare to Kubota specifications. Replace the sender if readings are open, shorted, or erratic.
- Controller calibration: If the sender is good but readings are inaccurate, the fuel level input may need recalibration in the Kubota controller menu (refer to service manual).
