Possible Causes
Blown controller fuse, Failed display backlight, Loose controller power connector, Internal controller fault
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn OFF the generator and disconnect battery negative before removing the controller or display panel.
- Check fuses: Locate and test the low-voltage fuses supplying the Kubota controller. Replace any blown fuses with the correct rating.
- Verify supply voltage: Measure DC voltage at the controller power terminals. It should match battery voltage. If absent, trace wiring back to the battery and charger.
- Inspect connectors: Reseat the multi-pin connector(s) on the back of the controller/display. Look for bent pins or corrosion.
- Backlight test: In a dark environment, check if any faint characters are visible. If so, the backlight may have failed and the display module may need replacement.
- Controller replacement: If power is present and wiring is good but the display remains dead, replace the controller with a Kubota-approved unit and transfer configuration settings.
