Possible Causes
Connected load exceeds generator rated kW, Short circuit or ground fault in load wiring, Faulty main circuit breaker, Loose or overheated output terminals
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Open the transfer switch to disconnect the generator from the building. Turn OFF the generator and allow components to cool.
- Reduce load: Identify large loads (HVAC, electric water heater, ovens) that may have started simultaneously. Ensure total running kW does not exceed the Lifan generator’s continuous rating. Reconfigure the load shedding or priority circuits if installed.
- Inspect main breaker: Locate the Lifan generator main circuit breaker. Check for signs of overheating or a soft/tripped handle. Reset the breaker fully OFF then ON. If it trips immediately with no load, replace the main circuit breaker.
- Check output lugs: With power off, remove the cover over the output lugs. Tighten all connections and look for melted insulation or discoloration indicating a loose connection.
- Inspect downstream wiring: If E07 occurs only when a specific circuit is energized, have a qualified electrician test that branch circuit for shorts or ground faults.
- Test under staged load: Restart the generator in MANUAL and add loads gradually while monitoring current draw (if the Lifan controller displays amps) to ensure you stay within rating.
