Low Fuel Level / Fuel Supply Fault
Lifan generator controller displays E09 and refuses to start.

Possible Causes
Fuel tank level below sensor threshold, Faulty fuel level sensor, Closed fuel shutoff valve, Air in fuel line (diesel models)
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn OFF the generator and close any manual fuel valves before servicing. Work in a well-ventilated area away from open flames.
- Verify fuel level: Check the physical fuel gauge on the Lifan tank. If low, add the correct fuel (gasoline, diesel, LPG/NG) as specified by the model. Do not overfill.
- Check fuel shutoff valve: Ensure the manual fuel valve at the tank or near the engine is fully open.
- Inspect fuel level sensor: On tank-mounted sensors, inspect the wiring harness from the sender to the controller. Clean corroded connectors. If the gauge reads empty despite fuel present, the fuel level sender may be faulty and should be replaced.
- Bleed air (diesel): If the tank ran dry, use the priming pump or bleed screws on the Lifan diesel fuel filter housing and injection pump to remove air until fuel flows without bubbles.
- Clear code and test: After restoring fuel and fixing sensor issues, clear E09 by cycling controller power and attempt a manual start.
