Possible Causes

Failed fuel shutoff solenoid, No 12 V supply from controller to solenoid, Sticking solenoid plunger, Broken solenoid ground connection

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn OFF the generator, disconnect battery negative, and close the fuel valve. Work in a ventilated area.

  • Locate fuel solenoid: On many Lifan engines, the fuel shutoff solenoid is mounted on the carburetor bowl or injection pump. Disconnect its connector.
  • Test solenoid operation: Apply 12 V directly from the battery to the solenoid terminals (observe polarity if marked). You should hear a click and see the plunger retract. If not, replace the fuel shutoff solenoid.
  • Check controller output: With the connector unplugged, command a start and measure voltage at the harness side. If no 12 V is present, inspect wiring back to the Lifan controller and check any inline fuses.
  • Clean sticking plunger: If the solenoid is sluggish, remove it and clean the plunger and bore with carb cleaner, then retest.
  • Reassemble and test: Reconnect everything, clear E14, and start the generator. Confirm it continues running.
