Possible Causes
Open or miswired utility sensing leads, Blown sensing fuse, Faulty voltage sensing circuit in controller, Incorrect configuration of utility voltage
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Only qualified personnel should work inside live transfer switches. Turn OFF generator and lock out power sources before opening panels.
- Check sensing fuses: Locate the small fuses protecting the utility sensing circuits in the Lifan control panel. Test and replace any blown sensing fuses with the correct rating.
- Verify wiring: Compare the utility sensing connections from the transfer switch or utility terminals to the controller against the Lifan wiring diagram. Correct any mis-landed or loose wires.
- Confirm configuration: In the controller settings, verify that the programmed utility voltage and phase configuration match the actual service (e.g., 1-phase 240 V). Adjust settings if necessary.
- Controller test: If wiring and fuses are correct but E17 remains, the controller’s sensing circuit may be damaged. Replace the Lifan digital controller after verifying with Lifan technical support.
