Possible Causes

Failed onboard battery charger, Blown charger fuse, Loose charger wiring, Sulfated battery drawing excessive current

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn OFF the generator and disconnect battery negative before servicing the charging system.

  • Measure float voltage: With utility power present and generator off, measure battery voltage. It should be around 13.2–13.8 V if the charger is working.
  • Check charger fuse: Locate and test the fuse protecting the Lifan battery charger. Replace any blown charger fuse.
  • Inspect charger wiring: Ensure AC input and DC output wires to the charger are secure and not corroded.
  • Replace charger or battery: If the charger has no output, replace the battery charger module. If the charger overheats or current is very high, test and replace the starting battery if it is sulfated.
