Safety first: Isolate the generator from the building if voltage is unstable. Turn OFF the generator before tightening any connections.

• Measure voltage and frequency: Use a quality meter to monitor output. Large swings indicate regulation issues.
• Inspect connections: Tighten all phase and neutral lugs in the generator terminal box and at the Lifan controller sensing points.
• Check AVR: If voltage fluctuates while engine speed is steady, replace the AVR module.
• Governor and load: If frequency is unstable, inspect governor linkage for wear and ensure total load is within the generator’s rating. Reduce or sequence large motor loads.
