F07
MTU Onsite Energy
Low Fuel Level Protection
Controller displays F07 – Low fuel level alarm, generator inhibited from automatic start

Possible Causes
Fuel tank level below setpoint, Faulty fuel level sensor, Open circuit in fuel level wiring, Incorrect level calibration in controller
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: No open flames or sparks near the fuel system. Follow site fuel handling procedures.
- Verify actual fuel level: Use the mechanical gauge on the base tank or day tank to confirm fuel level. If low, arrange for refueling to above the minimum automatic start threshold.
- Inspect level sensor: Locate the fuel level sender (float or pressure type) on the MTU fuel tank. Check for damage, corrosion, or loose mounting.
- Check wiring: Trace the level sensor wiring back to the MTU controller or remote I/O module. Tighten terminals and repair any damaged cable.
- Calibrate in controller: In the controller configuration menu, verify that the fuel level input type (resistive/4–20 mA) and scaling are correct for the installed sensor. Adjust calibration if readings are inaccurate.
- Replace faulty sender: If the mechanical gauge shows adequate fuel but the controller still indicates low level, replace the fuel level sensor with an MTU-compatible unit.
