Controller displays F24 – Air filter restriction alarm

Safety first: Shut down the engine before opening the air filter housing.

• Inspect air filter: Open the air filter housing on the MTU engine and examine the element. Replace if dirty or damaged using an MTU-approved filter.
• Check intake path: Ensure intake ducts and louvers are clear of debris, snow, or obstructions.
• Restriction switch: If equipped, inspect the air restriction indicator or switch and its tubing. Replace if stuck or giving false alarms.
• Test run: Clear the F24 alarm and run the generator, confirming that the alarm does not reoccur.
