Exercise Timer / Auto Start Configuration Issue
Generator fails to start automatically during scheduled exercise, but starts manually
Advertisements
Possible Causes
Incorrect exercise schedule settings, Disabled auto mode, Controller clock not set, Faulty internal real‑time clock
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Ensure the generator is safe to start automatically (no personnel working on it) before enabling AUTO mode.
- Step 1 – Verify AUTO mode: Confirm that the controller is set to AUTO, not OFF or MANUAL.
- Step 2 – Check exercise settings: Enter the controller menu and review the exercise schedule (day, time, duration). Correct any errors and ensure the feature is enabled.
- Step 3 – Set controller clock: Make sure the date and time are correct. Adjust for daylight saving time if necessary.
- Step 4 – Test exercise function: Temporarily set an exercise time a few minutes ahead and observe whether the unit starts. If it does not, the controller's timer circuit may be faulty and require replacement.
