Possible Causes
Cracked radiator hose, Loose hose clamp, Leaking water pump seal, Radiator core damage
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Allow the engine to cool before touching any cooling system components. Hot coolant can cause burns.
- Step 1 – Identify leak location: Inspect hoses, clamps, radiator, and water pump for wet areas or dried coolant residue.
- Step 2 – Tighten clamps: Gently tighten hose clamps at leaking joints. Do not overtighten plastic fittings.
- Step 3 – Replace damaged hoses: If a hose is bulging, cracked, or soft, replace it with the correct size coolant hose.
- Step 4 – Check water pump: Look for coolant dripping from the water pump weep hole. A leaking pump must be replaced.
- Step 5 – Refill and bleed system: After repairs, refill with the correct coolant mixture and bleed air per the Multiquip manual. Monitor for further leaks during a test run.
