Perkins generator controller shows E019 and indicates generator underfrequency

Safety: Underfrequency can damage sensitive loads. Remove non‑essential loads while troubleshooting.

• Check load level: Compare actual kW load to generator rating. If overloaded, shed load to within nameplate capacity.
• Fuel system inspection: Ensure filters are clean and fuel supply is adequate (see E002). Restricted fuel will limit engine power.
• Governor tuning: Access governor or controller parameters for droop and gain. If frequency sags excessively under load, adjust according to manufacturer instructions.
• Actuator function: Observe the governor actuator movement under load changes. If slow or limited, test its power supply and replace the governor actuator if defective.
• Re‑test with step loads: After adjustments, apply step loads while monitoring frequency response.
