• Check routing: Inspect fuel feed and return lines. Ensure they are not touching exhaust manifolds, turbochargers, or hot coolant pipes. Reroute or insulate as needed.
• Fuel cooler: If the system uses a fuel cooler, check for coolant flow (water‑cooled type) or airflow (air‑cooled type). Clean or flush the cooler.
• Sensor verification: Compare controller fuel temperature reading with an infrared thermometer on the fuel filter head. Replace the fuel temperature sensor if readings are clearly wrong.
• Tank recirculation: On small day tanks, consider adding a return line to the main tank or increasing tank volume to reduce temperature rise.
