Possible Causes
Coolant leak in hoses or radiator, Loose radiator cap, Faulty coolant level sensor, Air trapped in cooling system after service
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Allow the engine to cool completely. Hot coolant under pressure can cause severe burns.
- Check coolant level: Remove the radiator or expansion tank cap when cool. Top up with the correct coolant mixture to the indicated level.
- Inspect for leaks: Examine hoses, clamps, radiator core, and water pump area for signs of dried coolant or wet spots. Tighten clamps and replace damaged hoses.
- Check coolant level sensor: Locate the level sensor on the radiator or expansion tank. Inspect the connector and wiring. Clean contacts and reseat.
- Bleed air: If the system was recently serviced, follow the Pramac bleeding procedure to remove trapped air, which can trigger false low-level alarms.
- Clear alarm and test: After correcting the level and leaks, clear E08 and run the generator while monitoring for further coolant loss.
