Possible Causes
Weak battery or starter motor fault, Fuel supply problem, Faulty glow plugs (diesel), Incorrect crank time or start attempts exceeded
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disable AUTO mode. Keep clear of moving parts during crank attempts.
- Observe start attempt: Initiate a manual start and listen. If the engine cranks slowly or not at all, focus on the battery and starter. If it cranks normally but does not fire, focus on fuel and ignition.
- Battery and starter: Check battery voltage and connections as described for E03. Inspect starter motor cables for tightness and overheating. Replace the starter if it clicks but does not turn the engine and battery is good.
- Fuel system: Confirm fuel level, open any shutoff valves, and check for air in transparent fuel lines. Bleed the system and replace filters if needed.
- Glow plugs (diesel): In cold conditions, verify that the glow plug indicator or preheat cycle operates. Test glow plugs with an ohmmeter and replace failed units.
- Controller settings: Ensure crank duration and number of attempts are set per Pramac specifications. Incorrect settings can cause premature start failure alarms.
