Possible Causes
ATS contactor coil failure, Mechanical jam in ATS, Incorrect voltage sensing at ATS, Interlock preventing transfer
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Work only with both mains and generator sources isolated and locked out. High voltage and backfeed hazards exist.
- Verify generator voltage: Confirm correct voltage and frequency at the ATS generator input terminals.
- Listen for ATS operation: During a test, listen for the contactor pulling in. No sound suggests a coil or control issue.
- Inspect ATS mechanism: With power off, manually operate the contactor (if design allows) to check for mechanical binding.
- Check control fuses and coils: Test the contactor coil for continuity and verify control fuses are intact. Replace faulty components with Pramac-specified parts.
