Generator surges or hunts in RPM with fluctuating lights

Safety first: Keep clear of moving linkages while running. Use tools, not fingers, to probe.

• Inspect linkage: With engine off, move the governor and throttle linkages through full travel. Clean and lightly lubricate pivot points.
• Check fuel filters and lines: Replace clogged filters and bleed air from the system.
• Controller tuning: On electronic governors, verify gain and stability parameters per Pramac specs. Small adjustments may stabilize speed.
• Test under steady load: Apply a moderate, constant load and observe. If hunting persists, the governor actuator or internal governor may need replacement.
