Generator display shows E08 (High Battery Voltage) and may prevent starting or cause intermittent resets.
Safety Warning
This repair may involve working with high voltage components or water connections. Always unplug the appliance before removing any panels.
If you are not confident in your ability to perform this repair safely, we strongly recommend contacting a professional technician.
Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn the generator OFF, disconnect any external chargers, and wear eye protection when near the battery.
- Measure battery voltage: With a multimeter, check DC voltage at the battery. If above 14.8 V with the unit idle, the battery is being overcharged.
- Disconnect external chargers: If you have an external trickle charger connected, remove it and recheck voltage. Pulsar standby generators typically include an internal charger and do not require an additional one.
- Inspect charger wiring: Verify that the charger leads are correctly connected and not shorted or reversed.
- Test with AC power removed: Turn off the AC supply feeding the generator's charger (if separately fed) and see if the voltage drops to normal battery level. If so, the internal charger module is likely defective.
Persistent E08 with high voltage indicates a failing charger or control board. Replace the Pulsar battery charger module or main control PCB as specified in the service manual.
