Generator display shows E12 (High AC Voltage) and may shut down or refuse to transfer load.
Safety Warning
This repair may involve working with high voltage components or water connections. Always unplug the appliance before removing any panels.
If you are not confident in your ability to perform this repair safely, we strongly recommend contacting a professional technician.
Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: High voltage can damage appliances and pose shock hazards. Open the generator breaker and building main breaker before testing.
- Measure output voltage: With the generator running and isolated from the building, measure voltage at the output lugs. If above Pulsar's specified range (e.g., above 130 V line-to-neutral), shut down immediately.
- Inspect AVR part number: Verify that the installed AVR matches the Pulsar model's specified part number. Incorrect AVRs can produce wrong voltage.
- Check sensing leads: Ensure the small gauge sensing wires from the stator to the AVR and control board are intact and firmly connected. Broken sensing leads can cause the AVR to overcompensate.
Over-voltage conditions require AVR or control board replacement and calibration. This should be performed by a technician with proper test equipment.
