Possible Causes

Open or shorted sensor wiring, Failed oil pressure sensor, Failed temperature sensor, Loose sensor connector

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn OFF the generator, disconnect the battery, and allow the engine to cool.

  • Identify the sensor: Refer to the Pulsar display or manual to determine which sensor is implicated (e.g., oil, temp, RPM).
  • Inspect wiring harness: Trace the harness from the control board to the sensor. Look for chafed insulation, pinched wires, or rodent damage.
  • Reseat connectors: Unplug and replug the sensor connector to clean the contacts. Ensure it clicks into place.
  • Check sensor body: Make sure the sensor is firmly threaded into the engine block or mounting point and not leaking.

If E18 persists, the sensor itself is likely defective and should be replaced with the correct Pulsar part number.
