Safety first: Set the generator to OFF and disable AUTO. Keep flames away from fuel. Allow the engine to cool.

• Check fuel level and valve: Confirm there is fresh fuel in the tank and that the fuel shutoff valve is fully open.
• Inspect fuel filter: Locate the inline fuel filter on the Pulsar engine and replace it if it appears dirty or restricted.
• Examine spark plug: Remove and inspect the plug. Clean or replace if fouled, and set the gap to the Pulsar specification.
• Verify choke operation: Move the choke lever (or observe the automatic choke) to ensure it is not stuck closed or open. Lubricate the linkage lightly if binding.

If the engine still will not start after verifying fuel and spark, further diagnosis of the ignition coil and carburetor may be required.
