Possible Causes

Generator output breaker open, Faulty automatic transfer switch, Loose output cable connections, Burned ATS contacts

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Working on transfer switches and main panels involves lethal voltages. If you are not qualified, contact a licensed electrician.

  • Check generator breaker: Verify the main output breaker on the Pulsar generator is in the ON position.
  • Inspect ATS status: Observe the ATS indicator lights or mechanical position. It should move to the generator position when the unit is running and utility is absent.
  • Test generator voltage: With a meter, confirm correct voltage at the generator output lugs. If present there but not at the ATS load terminals, the ATS is likely faulty.
  • Check wiring connections: With all power off, tighten all lugs in the generator junction box and ATS.

Burned or welded ATS contacts require replacement of the ATS contactor or entire switch assembly.
